In private tuition, you will also follow the study pattern, however, you can also let the trainer know what you would like to study in addition (grammar, listening, speaking, etc). How fast and slow paced you would prefer. Furthermore, if you have a book you would like us to follow, please don’t hesitate in telling your trainer, she will be more than happy to fulfill your requirements.

Proficiency Levels (as per CEFRL)

Below are the guidelines for French language proficiency as per the CEFR. There are four parts of the exam irrespective of the level of exam taken: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. An individual taking up any level of exam is tested in all the four areas of French language. The French language knowledge in each level is discussed below:


DELF / DALF Exams in India

DELF stands for Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française; DALF stands for Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française. These two proficiency tests are designed for non-native French speakers as a way of certifying their knowledge in French language. In each year globally over 300,000 students has registered for the various available French language proficiency tests. These two tests are very important and currently being administered and awarded by the French Ministry of Education. They are regarded as an international benchmark test that gauges the learner’s skill and knowledge in French language. The proficiency tests of DELF and DALF consist of six different diplomas that also meet the standard set by the CEFR (Common European Reference Framework for Languages).

Speaking & Listening : The learner can understand and respond to basic expressions of greetings and farewell. Can talk about color, shapes, common vegetables and fruits. Able to interact to people in day to day scenario like shopkeepers, vendors etc.

Speaking & Listening : Can listen and get overall understanding of the main points of discussion of a known topic with classmates. Able to understand instructions, explanations given by teacher and narrate small stories and recollect some incidence of daily like news on TV, a spectacular sports event, a movie recently watched.


Reading : Can identify and understand the important information in simple, clearly drafted print materials such as school handouts, brochures, or newspapers.


Writing : Can describe everyday places, objects or events (e.g. the mall, a guest presentation at school, a field trip) using complete sentences that are connected to each other. Able to describe an event using simple, coherent, and well-written sentences.
